Re-Order Point


Reorder point is the point/process which tells us how much any specific product/item needs to be purchased based on certain criteria and calculations. This all calculation is done on basis of average monthly consumption of last 11 months.


Activate ROP


If ROP calculations are needed for any product then ‘Control Inventory’ check box must be ticked as ‘Yes’ at the time of creating the product master or whenever need be.


  • Open the product and tick the ‘Control Inventory’ check box to ‘Yes’
  • Enter Reorder Point quantity in the column (In this case there will not be any calculation from system to calculate reorder point quantity and here entered quantity will be used figure out purchase quantity, if not defined color wise)
  • Select the reorder point group from the highlighted drop-down to filter the reorder point data while purchasing the reorder material quantity





If user wants to define color wise ROP quantity then can go to color tab and define there. If the quantity is not defined for any color then reorder point qty will be taken from details tab ‘Reorder Point’ of that product highlighted above.

 

  • To define color wise reorder point quantity -Go to colors tab
  • Add a color from + at the bottom and enter the color ROP quantity in Reorder Point column




ROP and Material Purchase


  • Go to Products
  • Select Fabrics/Trims or Others as per requirement
  • Click on Tasks
  • Click on ‘Go to Re-Order Point Data’ (this will open a new window)





The below screen has the following highlighted columns which help to calculate ROP and Reorder Quantity


  • Current Stock- Current stock is presently available stock of particular item (System Calculated)
  • Monthly Avg. Cons.- This column contains the average consumption of the item in last 12 months (System Calculated)
  • Reorder Point- Reorder Point is Current Stock + Reorder Quantity (System Calculated)
  • Reorder Qty- This is the quantity which needs to be purchased as of today to maintain the average stock (Based on System Calculations)
  • Lead Time- Lead time is the time taken by supplier to deliver the product to company warehouse (Entered by User in product master)
  • Safe Stock Type- This is of 3 types as shown in drop down. Each stock type selected for any particular material has a different calculation for reorder quantity (User Has to Select as per Requirement)
  • Safe Stock Qty- This is the information which depends on selected Safe Stock Type (Entered by User)




Calculations Involved:


  • If Safe Stock Type is selected as Based on Lead Time Days then Re-order Quantity =
  • If Safe Stock Type is selected as Flat Quantity then Re-order Quantity =
  • If Safe Stock Type is selected as Percent of ROP then Re-order Quantity =
